This is the Reason Why Some Mosquitoes Bite Some People and Leave Others Alone. Check it Out!

One of the most exciting times of the year is summer, where people go outdoors to bask in the bright, beaming sun and go to the beach to enjoy their free time away from school, job or work. But during this time, mosquitoes are prevalent as well which may prove to be quite annoying for some people.

These nasty little buggers are mostly active during high temperatures. This is why summer is considered an outbreak for diseases brought about by mosquitoes like malaria, dengue, etc,

Health officials advise people during the summertime on how to prevent getting fed on by mosquitoes. One way to keep mosquitoes at bay is by using lotion repellents, sprays, etc.

But while these may prove effective at some point, many people are wondering why some mosquitoes don't bite certain people and others get totally bitten no matter what. Dr. Jonathan Day of the University of Florida specified exactly the reason why this happens. He said "Some people produce more of certain chemicals in their skin. And a few of those chemicals, like lactic acid, attract mosquitoes."

Also, people who like to wear dark-colored clothes tend to get bitten by mosquitoes because of its higher contrast. Mosquitoes tend to stay close to the ground and choose their target by comparing a person's silhouette to the horizon so dark-colored clothes attract these bloodsuckers.

Adults are likely to become targets of mosquitoes due to their large size, which makes them more attractive to mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes are also active during dusk as well. This is the time where they actively seek out people to bite because the winds tend to be more calmer, making them easier to find their hosts for bloodsucking.
